The environment of the deliverance room is of a major concern to Deliverance Ministers, the demonized and those assisting. The primary concerns are:
Before we begin in the discussion let us understand that being a Deliverance Minister is not for the weak of heart nor the weak of faith. They must have a deep and intimate relationship, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit. They must know their God and do exploits. They must walk in the Holy Spirit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days of the year. For they are primary targets of Satan, he is constantly seeking to devour them. Without further comment, the most dangerous aspect of deliverance is the spiritual attack against the prayer team and much more so the Deliverance Minister. The pulling away from the word of truth, the twisting of the living word of God, surely death is preferable to eternal damnation.
For the severely demonized as the time of the deliverance session draws near their torment increases and their physical safety decreases. Starting 2-3 hours prior to the deliverance session and most certainly while the victim is in route to the deliverance location. The prayer team should be praying for strength and binding up the spirits that are attempting to stop the deliverance session and/or to harm the physical being of the victim. The Deliverance Minister should be in contact with the victim at the time that they leave and at least at one stop on their way there. It is a good idea that the Deliverance Minister or a prayer team member meets the victim 10-15 minutes before their arrival to drive them to the deliverance location thus ensuring their physical safety.
The physical location of the deliverance session should have been prepared. The preparation includes the physical room, the church, the church property and/or the office, or house that the deliverance is taking place in. The anointing should take place starting in the deliverance room and working outward through the house, the church building and then the property and cleanse it of the present evil spirits. This will help to ensure that you don't have items flying around the room or other unclean spirits that the ones you seek to exorcise can draw strength from. The actual room where the deliverance session is to take place is of supreme importance for the physical safety of all concerned. It is preferable that the room be virtually bare. Containing only these items:
We have found that the victim's chair and where it is situated is very important for the safety of the victim as well as the Deliverance Minister. The chair should be very well padded in all areas, especially the back, the head, the arms of the chair, and the area where the calves and feet are placed. We prefer and use a lazy boy style chair, a very high back which extends above the victim's head and also has what I call wings, protrusions coming out from the sides of the head area also and has arms on both sides, nice and sturdy. During intense deliverance sessions the emitting of body fluids sometimes occur. We, therefore, recommend using leather, vinyl or other similarly covered chair to ensure easy clean up. During the deliverance session demonic manifestation is a common place, more times than not their goal is to harm the victim. The manifesting spirit will often times attempt to bang the victim's head into the chair. They may often try to get the victim out of the chair and to leave the deliverance room and total location, pounding the victim's hands, arms, legs or feet against the chair and/or the floor. The demon spirit may also grab anything in range in an attempt to harm the possessed and/or the Deliverance Minister (DM). Ensure that nothing is within reach of the body. Often times as the demon is exorcised the victim's body will have a tendency to go into convulsions, it very well may try to slide out of the chair onto the floor, there are difficulties that may arise. The tables around the deliverance chair within arm’s distance need to be cleared off. So the victim can't pick something up and hurt themselves or someone else.
The Deliverance Minister's chair should be highly mobile, height adjustable and without arms. The Deliverance Minister needs to have the ability to easily move in close to the victim, move away from the victim as well as to move left or right in front of the victim's chair. In our opinion three prayer team members would be an optimum number. With one being delegated to the taking of notes of the deliverance session. The seating for all three should be comfortable and suitable to their prayer needs. Some sit and pray, some as the anointing comes have a tendency to stand, all of this is fine as long as it is done orderly. We at Covenant Warriors International Ministries personally use a love seat in the initial stages and a coffee table for the person taking notes and have arrangements for a chair on either side of the victim's chair. We have found that to have the prayer team members encircling from the beginning of the deliverance session make the victim more uncomfortable and nervous than necessary. However, as the deliverance session progresses and the manifestations start occurring then the prayer team members will approach the sides of the victim for the laying on of hands, the using of the anointing of oil. Often times taking the bible and placing it on the head of the demon, that is to say on the victim's physical head or possibly putting the bible across the victim's heart and chest area, as the Lord burns his word into the demonic spirit.
The two clean hand towels maybe confusing to some at first. Their use is as follows one of the hand towels is for the victim's use. Often times during demonic manifestations when you are actually casting the demon out the demon may have a strong tendency to drool, sometimes profusely, of course the towel is to keep the victim somewhat cleaned up. Also the victim is prone to lots of crying during the deliverance session as the healing comes, again it is to wipe the tears of the victim. The second towel is normally used for the Deliverance Minister and/or the prayer team members, depending on the anointing of the prayer team for the demons during the manifestations often times will spit on the deliverance team.
In the opinion of Covenant Warriors International Ministries the above instruction makes for a safe, successful deliverance session and deliverance room set up. However, we believe that at any time a demonic manifestation occurs it is the Lord working and moving and more or less asking for the demon to be cast out at that moment, at that time, at that place regardless of the location. Whether that would be in the church at the altar, in the church parking lot, in your driveway at home, or in the grocery store. We must remember that the Lord Jesus cast demons out wherever he was located, at any time they manifested, whether it was walking down the street, in a house or in the synagogue. Should we do any less?
