Regardless of how the Lord Jesus decides to deliver us. Guarding our hearts is at its core. Whether it is pre-deliverance, deliverance, and or post-deliverance.
How does one get ready to be free?
How does one get free?
How does one stay free?
For the most part it is by guarding our hearts, our souls.
Philippians tells us how:
Rejoice in the Lord and what HE is doing and planning to do in your life.
Moderation should be shown in your life. Moderation is defined in the Greek by being suitable and patient. Wait on the Lord in the aspects of your life.
Prayer without holding back. Do not be careful that your prayers are pious (religious). But pour your heart into each word. Be open, transparent, honest in HIS sight. Give Him thanks where thanks are due. Lay your every trouble before HIM. Ask so that you may receive. Through prayer obtain the peace of the Lord Jesus and build yourself up by praying in the Spirit.
Think, stay focused, keep your eyes on HIM.
Peace, HIS peace is what keeps your heart and your mind. Your heart cannot be at peace if your mind is in unrest. Fight to keep your mind on HIM. Control your thought life.
Do what you have learned from the saints that the Lord has placed in your life.
Rejoice in the care of the saints. Not only in what HE, the Lord has done for you but what HE has done for them and through them.
Opportunities to be of service to the Lord. We must look for God. We must redeem the time. What can we do for the Lord? Can we volunteer for work at the church: the nursery, cleaning, mowing, Sunday school, hosting, e-mailing, giving love offerings of spirit.
Can you see dear saints how all of this KEEPS YOU?
Philippians 4:
4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.
